Keramzyt – co to jest?
Keramzyt to nic innego jak kruszywo, które jest wypalane z gliny w odpowiednich warunkach. Ma zastosowanie nie tylko w ogrodzie, ale i w budownictwie. Ma różną frakcję ze względu gdzie jest stosowany. Dodatkowym atutem keramzytu jest to, iż jako kruszywo jest lekkie i do tego wytrzymałe na warunki pogodowe, szkodniki oraz inne czynniki nie tylko środowiskowe. Jednak głównym celem tego kruszywa jest drenaż i oddawanie wody roślinie kiedy jej brak.

Kruszywo to najczęściej jest stosowane do nasadzeń w donicach, skrzynkach balkonowych, a także w pojemnikach. Chociaż i w ogrodzie ma swoje zastosowanie. Jako, że jest materiałem, które się przydaje to ma swój estetyczny wygląd. Można stosować nawet i do szklanych wazonów w domu.

Jak odpowiednio użyć keramzytu, aby rośliny rosły w donicy?
- Do donicy, skrzynki balkonowej czy pojemnika wsyp keramzyt (w zależności od wielkości donicy – tak aby było ok. 20 cm)
- Wsyp ziemię ogrodową, tak aby móc posadzić roślinę (najlepiej trochę z „czubkiem” – później ziemia po podlaniu opadnie)
- Posadź roślinę
- Obficie podlej

Można również użyć keramzytu do ogrodu, aby stworzyć ścieżki w ogrodzie, a nawet jako dodatek na skalniak. Teraz bardzo modne są ogrody na dachach domów, bloków czy ogólnie budynkach. I tam też ma swoje zastosowanie keramzyt. Dlaczego? Otóż to kruszywo jest dobrym izolatorem termicznym, który zatrzymuje lub oddaje ciepło w zależności od pory roku.
